Sources
Source policy
Baby feeding guidance is checked against public health and pediatric sources, with retrieval dates stored alongside each source.
Last updated 2026-06-16.Preferred sources
- CDC infant and toddler nutrition guidance for solids, foods to avoid or limit, and choking hazards.
- HealthyChildren.org from the American Academy of Pediatrics for pediatric feeding guidance.
- NHS guidance for foods to avoid and choking-risk framing.
- FDA or USDA guidance when fish, food handling, or food safety context matters.
How sources are used
Sources set the safety boundary. We then translate that boundary into caregiver-friendly serving notes without claiming personalized medical certainty.
Every generated food page includes a visible Sources reviewed section with publisher, title, URL, and retrieval date.
When guidance conflicts
If public sources differ or do not cover a specific food, we choose the more conservative wording or mark the topic as needing clinician guidance.
